About The Thinking Company

The Thinking Company (TTC) is an AI transformation firm. We work with CEOs, boards, leadership teams, and private-equity operating partners when AI needs to change the economics of a business.

Clients buy defined work across AI transformation, AI product and build, and private-equity value creation and post-M&A transformation. We start with a bounded question or deployment, establish the evidence, deliver the result, and expand only when further work is justified.

Runstate is the agentic system behind TTC. It combines our delivery methods, engagement context, and AI agents to help teams move from discovery to decisions and deployed results. Transformation Partners use it every day alongside FDEs and client teams.

Why this role is different

  • Own complex engagements and senior client relationships from first question through deployment and follow-on.
  • Work on substantial AI transformations with a small senior team, FDEs, and AI agents.
  • Use and improve Runstate, TTC's internal agentic operating system for delivery.
  • Build a recurring client portfolio and approved, reusable methods for important use cases and industries.
  • Stay close to the work, with a path to broader authority and economic participation.

The mandate and measures of success

Your central task is to turn an important company problem into a defensible recommendation, turn that recommendation into an accepted deployment or operating change, and earn a successful follow-on through the result.

You will own the relationship, economic case, scope, governance, key deliverables, and implementation path. You will conduct senior discovery, frame the problem, produce the important work, lead critical sessions, and stay accountable through handover—responsibilities large consultancies spread across several roles.

At steady state, you will own two substantial client relationships and build recurring engagements. You will start with TTC's existing relationships, build independent commercial ownership within six to twelve months, and by month twelve have sourced and closed at least one paid entry engagement and earned an expansion through delivery.

What you will own

  • Lead discovery with CEOs, boards, executives, and operating partners to establish the economic and operating problem.
  • Define the value hypothesis, evidence plan, decision rights, scope, acceptance criteria, and accountable client owners.
  • Personally shape the analysis and key deliverables; lead the workshops and readouts that determine the client's decision.
  • Stay accountable through implementation until the contracted system, workflow, decision, or operating change is deployed and accepted.
  • Lead qualification, proposals, and commercial conversations from the start.
  • Build relationships and earn expansion through evidence. Decline work that is too small, unmeasurable, or outside TTC's mandate.
  • Improve TTC's methods through reviewed, generalized learning while protecting client confidentiality and resisting process that does not improve the result.

Working with Runstate, FDEs, and AI agents

You will use Runstate every day to structure discovery, maintain engagement state, work with AI agents, build evidence, prepare decisions and deliverables, and manage handoffs.

With FDEs, you will set outcomes and guardrails, challenge technical choices, and remove institutional blockers. AI agents extend your capacity; you remain responsible for their output and for decisions requiring human judgment.

What the role requires

You have personally led consulting engagements end to end, accountable for the mandate, team, client, answer, and implementation. Participation in a programme does not meet the bar.

Your background will probably be in consulting or enterprise transformation leadership. Enterprise operators, founders, and general managers must show they can convert their experience into consulting craft and commercial ownership across several clients.

Prior AI-transformation leadership is optional. Strong work in digital, data, software, operating-model, or technology transformation can qualify. Current AI fluency is required: you understand what the technology can do, how it fails, how it changes work, and how to use it in your own operating method.

You need not be a software engineer, but you must reason about enterprise systems, architecture, data flows, integrations, security constraints, and implementation trade-offs well enough to shape the work and challenge technical choices.

The role requires comfort with a small team and a substantial workload. There is no analyst pool, PMO, research desk, or production function behind the title. Client decisions and deployments create periods of intense work.

Automatic disqualifiers

  • You delegate the analysis and cannot produce the key work yourself.
  • Your involvement ends once the recommendation is presented.
  • You can deliver assigned work but cannot qualify, originate, or expand a relationship.
  • Your performance depends on a large brand, a large team, or established support functions.
  • Your standard of quality requires decision cycles that do not fit TTC's pace.

Coding depth, a portable network, broad sector exposure, and a public profile are useful but optional. Engagement leadership, delivery, trust, and commercial judgment carry more weight.

Evidence we want to see

We care about work you owned: evidence that you can move from an important company problem to a recommendation and from that recommendation to an actual deployment. Be ready to discuss:

  • An ambiguous mandate you turned into an accepted result.
  • A key analysis or deliverable showing your judgment and authorship.
  • A recommendation that became a deployed system or operating change, including the difficult implementation work.
  • A senior stakeholder relationship you retained through a difficult decision.
  • Work you originated or expanded, why the client bought it, and what earned the next purchase.
  • Work you declined, narrowed, or stopped because its result could not be defended.
  • Your current use of AI agents, how you verify them, and which decisions remain human.

We assess the examples above more heavily than employer names.

Location, travel, and language

Warsaw-first is preferred. A Poland-based hybrid arrangement is possible for an exceptional candidate.

In-person work with the TTC team is part of the role. Travel to European clients from time to time is part of the role. Professional English is mandatory. Polish is strongly preferred.
